Support Services Group is a high-touch outsourcing partner offering specialized BPO solutions across various industries. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our newly-formed Finance Team in our Budapest office to support the operation’s local Finance processes. In this role you will be responsible for Support Services Group Europe Kft’s regulatory accounting and financial accounting function. In addition to that you will be also responsible for preparing financial statements, verifying financial records and transactions, preparing cash flow analysis, reviewing budgets and forecasts, overseeing audits and developing paperwork for regulatory reporting.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Supervise the Accounting department and the work of two Accounting Associates
• Oversee the company’s complex AP, AR and GL bookkeeping procedures required by Hungarian Accounting Standards
• Manage general ledger, assist month-end and year-end closings
• Oversee Payroll Accounting processes and the preparation of business’s payroll data for the purpose of ensuring accurate and timely payments
• Maintain account balances and bank statements
• Analyze and prepare financial reports to provide support for decision making
• File tax statements, prepare financial reports for taxes, regulatory agencies, and stockholders
• Prepare financial statements and regulatory reporting documents
• Assist with audits and taxes

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Excellent communication skills in English and Hungarian
• People management and supervisory experience
• A proven track record of providing accurate and efficient work in professional accounting roles as a Chartered Accountant
• At least Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles according to both US GAAP and IFRS
• Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, standards, relevant legal rules as well as state/national regulations
• Hands-on experience transacting in multiple currencies
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and and Accounting softwares
• Experience with Oracle Netsuite is an advantage
• Ability to operate in a multinational environment and build working relationships with different stakeholders
• Proactivity, precision, ownership and can-do attitude
